Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10)

A compound the body makes for cellular energy production

Most relevant to people whose statin lowers their natural CoQ10 levels — the general-population case for heart benefit is thinner than the marketing suggests.

What the evidence supports

Moderate Statin-associated muscle symptoms Statins deplete CoQ10; some (not all) trials show symptom improvement with supplementation in affected patients.
Moderate Heart failure, as an adjunct One well-cited long-term trial (Q-SYMBIO) found improved outcomes alongside standard treatment — not a replacement for it.
Limited General energy or "anti-aging" Popular claim with little supporting trial data in healthy adults.
